  • How to reach Somaiya College of education ?

    K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering is located very near to Vidyavihar railway station which comes on the Central Railway track, between Kurla and Ghatkopar. If you are planning to come from the Western Railway side, you can change from the Western Railway to the Central Railway at Dadar station, and catch a slow local train from platform no. 1. Please do not catch the train whose final destination is Kurla. Those trains terminate at Kurla and you will not be able to come to Vidyavihar.

    If you are coming from the suburban side of Mumbai from the Central Railway, then please note that the trains are usually crowded in the mornings during weekdays for arrival. Please board the 'slow' trains whose destinations are Dadar or CST.

    Please get down from the eastern side of the platform.

    It takes a minimum of fifteen minutes by walking from the Vidyavihar railway station to the college. Auto-rickshaws (3 seater vehicles) are available for hire outside the Vidyavihar station, and they take you to the outside of the Somaiya Vidyanagar campus.

  • What is the fee structure for this program?

    The fee structure is Rs.94,300 may be subject to change

  • What is the duration of this program?

    It is one year full time course

  • What is the medium of instruction ?

    The medium of instruction is English ; students from other mediums of instructions can also seek  admission.

  • Do you provide  the hostel facilities?

    The institution offers hostel facilities to the students in  one of the three hostels located in the campus that is meant for all students of Somaiya Group of institutions. First floor of hostel is exclusively reserved for women and it has a separate entrance

  • What is the admission process for doing M.Ed course in the college?

    Students have to apply directly to the college. Admission is given purely on merit basis.
    Through association cet .Cet forms will be available in the college .Last date 20th july, 2011

  • What is the intake capacity  for M. Ed ?

    Intake capacity is 40.

  • What are the timings for M. Ed?

    The timings are from 12.00 am to 6 pm from Monday to Saturday.

  • What are the minimum educational qualifications required for the admission to M.Ed. Course?

    Bachelor of Education(B Ed) of Mumbai University or a degree of another University recognized as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.(Relaxation of the minimum percentage of marks to 50% for candidates from the Reserved Categories)

  • What is the criterion for opting subject combination for B. Ed. Course?

    Admission in the B.Ed course will be subject based. At the time of admission each candidate shall opt for two teaching subjects. A candidate can opt for only those teaching subjects which she has studied at graduation level. Candidates who have passed additional subject at graduation level must ensure that that they are opting only those teaching subjects marks of which are taken into account for the purpose of calculating the percentage of  marks at graduation level.

    University Examinations are held in the month of December and --------- for this program.

  • What are the minimum educational qualifications required for the admission to M.Ed. Course?

    Eligibility for Admission to the M.Ed. course is on the basis of their B.Ed marks The candidate should have 55% in B. Ed. (50% in case of SC/ST candidates) .

     

  • What are the minimum educational qualifications required for the admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Management of Education?
     

    The minimum qualifications for admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Management of Education are a bachelor’s/post graduate degree in any discipline of the university of a degree of any other university which had been recognized by the university of Mumbai equivalent thereto with not less than50% marks in aggregate.

  • When will my examination be conducted?

    Answer. University Examinations are held in the month of December and --------- for all the courses M.Ed, PGDME.
